Kadri Pihlakas ^{Emerging artist}

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

During the studies, Pihlakas (b. 1984) realised that she is interested in deserted places. She started to do research about interiors, especially about abandoned places. Her Master’s degree work is a summary of a long creative period, which began in 2014. The most important motif in her painted interiors are petrified objects, almost stopped in time. The room’s bounds are deformed or blurred. The audience can perceive it as a space without actually being in it.

Kadri Pihlakas got her Master’s degree in Painting in Estonian Academy of Arts.
