Matilda Keränen Emerging artist

Matilda Keränen

Artist is based in: Finland

Matilda Keränen (b. 1996) is a visual artist based in Helsinki, working through painting and spatial installations. Her practice is grounded in themes such as corporeality, subjectivity, desire, and otherness, which unfold through logics of repetition, mirroring, and transition. She is interested in creating spaces where reflections briefly converge—like a play of mirrors in which something lost or longed for can be momentarily reached.  Alongside her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Keränen has studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and at Accademia di Brera in Milan. Keränen’s works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Her works are included in private collections as well as in the collections of the Finnish National Gallery and Finnish Art Society.
