Samuel Lehikoinen

Samuel Lehikoinen (b. 1990) is a visual artist originally from Jyväskylä Finland. Lehikoinen is a recent graduate from the Contemporary Art MA program from the Estonian Academy of Arts. Before his master studies, the artist has mostly worked and exhibited as a painter, taken part in multiple group shows around Finland, and held 4 solo exhibitions. Lehikoinen has received two grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, and has works in collections of Jyväskylä Art Museum. He is a member of the Finnish Painters Union and Jyväskylä Artist Association. While the artist has mostly worked with abstract painting, he has more recently focused on game development as part of his artistic practice. Lehikoinen’s MA graduation, a self developed video game titled “Unemployment Simulator 2018” was awarded the Estonian Academy of Arts 2023 young artist award.
