Alise Builevica (1998) is a Latvian artist specializing in painting, currently completing a Master's degree in painting at the Art Academy of Latvia. With a Bachelor of Arts in the same field, she integrates realistic and abstract elements into her work. Throughout her academic endeavors, she has received Latvia's State Forests Scholarship in Art and the SEB scholarship for painting in 2022. Her work has been showcased in four solo exhibitions in Latvia, such as “LAIKA” and “ALL MOST” at LOOK! Gallery, “Wanderer” at Grand Poet by Semarah Hotels, and “Atrasties” at Jaunmoku palace. Many of her works discuss the longing for belonging, dreams and dream logic, a double reality as well as Latvian nature. In addition to solo exhibitions, she has participated in various group exhibitions. Notable among these are “Dažādas personības kopīgas vērtības” in Brussels at the Permanent Representation of Latvia to the European Union, “TIPS&TRICKS. PADOMI IZDZĪVOŠANAI” LOOK! Gallery 5 Year Anniversary Exhibition, “Exhibition of AAL master's students” at the Needle Factory in Kuldīga. Her latest work, “Whispers in the Night – Portals of the Mind,” is a series of four paintings about her nightmares and their influence on her daily life and mental health.
