Felt tip pens and colored paper “
There is a place where they give food to the refugees just outside my window. Every morning, after waking, the first thing I would see is Ukrainians lined up to get their food package. I couldn’t ignore it. Started drawing them. This time I wanted to make the drawing look more political so I cut some colored paper and made a first drawing/collage. It looks like a poster. About the series: As the year 2022 was the year of the war in Ukraine, the biggest full-scale war since world war two, I had real doubts about my usual artistic practice of oil painting. I suddenly felt that painting is of no use now because simple protest poster has more meaning now, and most importantly – more power.”
