Lost Tram, 2022

80x60cm
€600

acrylic on canvas (unframed)

The painting reflects the fact that many tramlines around the world were closed in the 1950s because they were seen as old-fashioned. Today, trams are restored in many cities and are seen as environmentally friendly means of public transport. In the painting, a tram is paired with a flock of passenger pigeons which extinct in 1914. Unlike trams, these birds cannot be returned.
